Adventure Film for Monday – Searching for Marten on the Olympic Peninsula

Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation (ASC) partnered with the Olympic National Forest for the second year in a row to help with an intensive survey for coastal Pacific Marten, a “critically imperiled” species on the peninsula. ASC recruited and trained two dozen hardy outdoor enthusiasts turned adventure scientists to search for the elusive member of the weasel family. Without the efforts of these volunteers and ASC this survey could not have been completed and the fate of the marten would be an even greater mystery. Find out more on ASC’s marten project website. Thank you to the National Forest Foundation, Olympic National Forest, Kahtoola, Clif Bar and Osprey Packs for supporting this work. This film was directed and produced by Danny Schmidt (2014 Colorburn Productions).
